There will be peace, someday - But When?Reader comment on item: Israel is Winning Submitted by J Reinders (Canada), Nov 13, 2002 at 14:57 Hi Daniel,On this issue I have to disagree, I hope you're right, but I don't really see any light at the end of this tunnel, any time soon. As long as "militant Muslims" in Judea, Samaria, Gaza and surrounding Arab countries continue with their lies, propaganda and hatred towards the Jewish people; there will never be any peace. As some have mentioned in previous comments here, and on other articles, it may very well take an "Act of God" to stop this insanity. Which brings me to my comments..... As one who does believe the Bible is the only true word of God, it's not a question of "If" there will be peace, but "When". The Jewish people "Will" have all of the land returned to them (All of the land given to Abraham by God). There "Will" again be a Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount, and those Arab nations that rise up against Israel to try to stop this, will one more time, be defeated. Its simply a matter of time...........God, will in the end have the final word, this I do believe. Also, a quick note on Gary Vineberg's comments. "If the Christian liberal democracies of Europe can come to this position, how long can the U.S. stand against the rest of the world?" I would not call the democracies of Europe "Christian"! The last poll I saw pegged church attendance at somewhere between, less than 5% to around 18% - depending on the country. I also have to ask; What exactly makes a person a Christian? Is it simply going to Church every Sunday, being good to your neighbours and giving a few dollars to help the poor? Or, is it more than this? When was the last time any of us picked up a Bible, and actually read it? This is a question that every person who claims to be a Christian, needs to ask themselves - whether you're Liberal, Conservative, or somewhere in between. Knowing what the Bible has to say about "The Children of Israel", the Jewish people - how could any Bible-believing Christian ever, ever, ever be anti-Semitic. It's not possible to believe in the Bible as God's word, and to be anti-Semitic. Anti-Ssemitism flies in the face of everything the Bible teaches, the Jewish people are God's people - plain and simple, end of story. We also need to remind ourselves, that Christ was Jewish, that all of the Old and New Testament Prophets were Jewish, and that the first Christian Church was in fact "Jewish" not "Roman Catholic", as so many like to believe. This still shocks a lot of people.......... It's also important to remember that the largest group of people who support Israel today are from the Christian right. So please, do not paint all Christians with the same brush. The people of Israel receive tremendous spiritual, moral, financial support and love from these groups. I too will continue to support Israel 110%.... Thanks again for a chance to voice my opinion, and keep up the great work!
