Good PointReader comment on item: Canada's Muslims Provide "Strategic Advice on Relations with the Muslim World" Submitted by Vijay (United Kingdom), Apr 9, 2006 at 07:44 This privileging of Muslims as a religious group as a strategic bridge (whatever it may mean) with the "Muslim world" (is their a Muslim world apart from ordinary world?) is agreat blunder. The immediate result would be that the so called Muslim representatives in Canada would milk the system for their benefit. Then they would milk it for the benefit of 'ummah'. Canadian interestes would come last, if at all. In the aftermath of the July 7th terrosts atacks on London last year. Tony Blair consitituted a big committe of Muslim 'leaders' and spent millions of pounds. The Muslim reps cornered all the millions of pounds for the benefit of their own position in their local Muslim communities by distributing largesse to other Muslims. All that has not reduced the Muslim rage of the British muslim youth nor reduced terrorist threat to Britain. If you play to the self-centredness of Muslims, they are past masters in milking their system for their benefit at the cost of wider community or national interests. When will the moronic western leaders realise that carrot approach has limited applicabilty; when will they start using stick approach, which can be more effective with Muslims
