Please drop the ...drivel

Hey folks!

I am one of these tenured professors and I teach Political Science at a major midwestern university. People like Ms. Bier are all over academia but they are not as numerous as you may think. I spend a lot of time in my classes pointing out the dangers of Islam and the tendency of many liberals to sympathize too closely with those poor "occupied" Palestinians. When I confront these folks at conferences I get right in their face and suggest to them that the real comparison with Facism of WWII is today's politicized Islam. By the way, Muslims the world over supported Hitler long before Israel was created. Arabs killed Jews in pogroms all over the Holy Land during the early part of the 20th century. And no, I am not Jewish.

... Professors ... are a very varied and diverse bunch. I saw no complaints from the political Right as both Democrats and Republicans in this country supported the Bosnian Muslims whose president gave Bin Laden a passport in 1993 and who wrote a book espousing radical Islam and who was a Nazi tool during WWII. Both Left and Right in the United States went after one of the peoples in Europe who have resisted Islam for over 600 years and intervened in an ugly civil war on the side of what is now an Al Queda front in both Bosnia and Kosovo.

From my perspective as an academic, both the Right and the Left have distorted views about the open interchange of ideas that is the hallmark of a liberal education. And yes, look up what the word liberal really means before you go off into your FOX-TV NEWS fantasies.

As for Ms. Bier, I would bet she has a Muslim boyfriend and I would bet that she is a secret convert to Islam. If she gets tenure the headscarf will immediately appear.
