France Was Right

Reader comment on item: [Nepal and France:] Two Opposite Responses to Terrorism
in response to reader comment: France is finished and probably has been for some time

Submitted by Mike Stanley (United States), Apr 26, 2006 at 17:39

Funny how two years' perspective can make beliefs that seemed so obviously true to some, appear far more questionable. In point of fact, any intellectually honest conservative will have to admit France was right, and America wrong, about Iraq and the "war on terrorism" in general.

And funny -- the supposedly supine French actually had the guts to support publication of the Mohammed cartoons, while the supposedly macho American government, through craven Condi Rice, decried the "insensitivity" of exercising free speech.

Maybe you guys ought to rethink your knee-jerk conservative attitudes.
