Re: Ram SinghReader comment on item: Islamic Law at Belmont U Submitted by true believer (India), May 19, 2006 at 04:12 Dear Ram Singh, Why do you ask me the question "Who was Hitler ?" Dont you know ? Hitler did not quote from the bible to kill jews (remember that Jesus himself was a Jew ) Hitler didnot say "I am a Christian and I killed Jews to earn at ticket to heaven" He said "I am an Aryan" and "Jews are to be destroyed to make Germany pure". Replace "Aryan with "Moslem" and "Jews " with "Kaffirs" and you get radical Islam. Christianity or Christ did not make French or British did not loot countries. America did not fight in vietnam to uphold Christianity nor did Russians or Chinese or Polpot kill in the name of religion. If the Catholic inquisition tortured people 300 years back, we christians readily accept that it was evil. We don't try to justify it by claiming it to be a mandate from God to torture and burn people. While we all accept ideologies like fascism and imperialism or dictatorship as evils why do we do we hesitate to do the same for extremist islam ? Why not call spade a spade ? No church forces a girl to take up vows of religious order, is is solely her choice to become a nun. And just like a soldier whas to wear the uniform if he has to serve an nun has to wear her habit. I have known nuns who have decided to quit because they could not continue or wanted to marry after leaving theiir religious orders. Christian religious orders give the freedom to leave any time you wish, but if you stay you are expected to follow the rules. No body threw acid on their faces or bashed them for being mal veiled. When it is a crime in Germany and Europe and the to glorify Hitler or deny the jewish holocaust contrast this with one of the most developed moslem countries like Turkey, they do not accept the Armenian/Assyrian holocaust where two million christians were butchered. In fact if you discuss the armenian genocide you are liable to be prosecuted as per the Turkish law. I dont have to tell about the archaic laws in other moslem countries where you can lose your life choosing or expressing your faith other than Islam. I never wrote in any of my posts regarding the hejab. No body forces a sikh to wear a turban. There are Sikh families where some brothers wear the turban while othrs dont. Why are you trying to stir up a controversy ? I dont mind if a moslem woman covers herself up from head to toe, it is her choice. But if crazy mollah punishes her for not doing so, against her wishes I will definitely object to it. After all every body has a right to dress up as one pleases. If I rightly understand depleted uranium is used to make armour piercing / anti tank shells which were used against Saddam's Iraqi tanks, and not against the innocent population as you claim. Saddam himself had no qualms about using mustard gas against Iranian soldiers (He didnt have nukes or he would have gladly used them) It is not "depleted nuclear bombs" as you claim. Only a crazy mollah country like Iran will be able to drop a nuclead bomb on an innocent population. For you fascism, colonialism and communism are evil but radical islam is a holy cow and above criticism. I dont see any difference in the above ideologies. And any of them does not justify the other. All are evil and should be condemned without exception. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
