OilReader comment on item: "Pasha Bordello" Accepts Islamist Demands Submitted by Octavio Johanson (Italy), May 22, 2006 at 17:35 Maybe, Brazil is more clever than Europe and North America. Indeed, the Latin Americans and, especially the Brazilians, are becoming very up to date. Europe is appeasing Muslims because of the oil. Another thing: in America, you get Mexicans and Hispanics as cheap labour; in Europe, it is Arabs and Muslims. I am reluctant to criticize the USA, because they are closer to us than, say, Iranians, Indians and Chinese. However, the Americans are making, more or less, the same mistakes we are making in Europe. Of course, we can copy Brazil and abandon oil. But the Europeans (and the Americans) are not doing it. Also, we have opened our borders to Arabs and Muslims in the same way as the USA border is open to Mexicans and Hispanics. Then, don't forget that the concepts of PC and multi-culturalism were invented in North America, as opposed to Europe. We are making the same mistakes as the Americans. Oil is one of them. Hence, our attitude towards Muslims. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
