Let's test the watersReader comment on item: Courts: Okay to Proselytize for Islam in California Schools Submitted by tianxiang (United States), Jun 22, 2006 at 11:07 Now that it is okay to include in lessons a fight against the Crusaders, we should introduce a pro-Crusader lesson whereby the students can learn about how the Muslims invaded and conquered the "Holy Land", how the caliph Hakim killed non-Muslims and desecrated Christian holy sites such as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and how the Muslims were continually raiding, attacking, looting and raping along the border territories with the Byzantines which lead the Byzantine emperor to enlist help from the pope and Christians in Europe to come to their defense. Then the students should perform mock battles against the Saracens and cheer that they conquered the infidels and praise the Christian God for delivering them the Holy Land from the Muslim invaders and occupiers. It would be extremely interesting if the same history, this time told from the Christian perspective, were outlined as a lesson and provided to the school to balance the Muslim lesson about the Crusades. Also, perhaps an outline of the contributions to education, medicine, economics, the arts and human rights should be presented in a history of Christianity and its impact on civilization. Of course, to actually outline Christianity's contributions to civilization would take far more than 3 weeks but it would be interesting to present a course and lesson plan just to see how the school would react.
