There is no conspiracyReader comment on item: The "New York Review of Books" Mangles Campus Watch Submitted by S.H (Canada), Jul 14, 2006 at 16:54 Islam teaches Muslims not to hurt others or commit violent acts. Just because a handful of disillusioned and misguided individuals prefer to commit acts of terrorism on innocent civilians and establishments, doesn't mean that what they are doing is right according to Islam. Islam furthermore does not portray non-muslims as 'infidels'. Islam teaches Muslims to view Non-Muslims as friends, and to work alongside them for a better good. Some nations such as Saudi Arabia for example, do not allow non-muslims to have their own freedom of worship, but does that mean Saudi Arabia is basing that on Islam? NO. Islam teaches Muslims to be compassionate and allow Non-muslims to have the freedom to worship. The individuals that do commit acts of terrorism simply do not have enough knowledge to see the right way out of the situation. Any human being, when faced with oppression of any kind, will irrationally respond to the situation and in the process, probably hurt others, as terrorists do. Am I saying terrorists are innocent victims of oppression? NO. They should try to think for themselves, study the Quran, what Islam really is, and know that bombing innocent civilians is not what Islam teaches. Any people will defend themselves against their attackers. That is what Islam asks Muslims to do, not to defend themselves by bombing innocent people.
