Islamic opportunityReader comment on item: What To Do With Un-Deportable Aliens? Submitted by Vijay (United Kingdom), Jul 16, 2006 at 08:16 Since islam has historically uprooted and destroyed national and ethnic identities with an ideal of 7th century Arabic tribal ethos, it is easy for them to tear up their own national identities and put western (and eastern) immigration officials at a disadvantage. The modern national state system assumes nation states, or at any rate functioning states, with each individual being a citizen of some country or other. Islamic political theory is oopsed to these principles. By hook or crook, Islam tries to undermine modern system of states and the concept of citizenship. No wonder mullas are in the forefront of destroying the civil society not only in non-Muslim countries, but also in Muslim countries. Under the pressure of Islam, many functioning states and governments have collapsed in places such as Somalia, Pakistan, Sudan, Iraq and other places.
