Reader comment on item: The Canadian Islamic Congress Discusses the Old Testament

True, the Koran is not history, but reading the Koran is the only way to understand the essence of Islam and the motivation of the Moslem supremicists which includes both the short-term jihadi terrorists as well as the long-term, silent jihadists who are determined to Islamicize the world. Whether it is the Moslem Brotherhood, al-Qaeda, Komenei, and the terrorists themselves, they all base their behavior on specific passages in the Koran. That is not just a coincidence. Why has Islamic imperialism become such a problem for the world in the last 40 years?

Actually, that is not true. Islamic imperialism was a problem for the rest of the world since Mohammed's time. The problem has become especially acute in the last forty years or so because there has taken place the most monumental transfer of wealth in history -- from the developed countries to the Moslem oil-producers. So, the Moslems now have at their disposal nearly unlimited money which they use to buy weapons, finance terror organizations and spread their ideological poison through the funding of mosques and madrassas, the training of imams and the distribution of literature. Moslem imperialism was always based on the Koran, and it still is. Therefore, in order to understand the global jihad, but the immediate terrorist one as well as the long-term silent one, we must read the Koran.

The Koran should be required reading for graduation from every high school and college in America. Only when the public becomes aware of the hate-filled, supremacist, totalitarian and imperialist ideology which is based on the Koran, will the public be willing and able to take the necessary measures to defeat that ideology. Sure, there are lots of parts in the Koran which are incomprehensible. However, the problem comes from those parts which are all too easily comprehensible. When the Koran says that all non-Moslems are enemies, when the Koran says that all non-Moslems are the worst of animals, when the Koran requires Moslems to make war on all unbelievers until Islam reigns supreme, the message is clear to everyone.

Dr. Pipes, you, especially, should be advocating that every non-Moslem read the Koran.
