Us vs. Them?

I am so sad by reading these comments... particularly the ones where supposed Christians say, Jesus would want us to fight... hmmm, is that why he told his disciples not to? The prophet Mohammed also fought, but tried to put down strict rules when Muslims should and should not fight...

Throughout history atrocities have been commited in the name of God, Christians burned people at the stake, and yet Christians forget their blood soaked past and go insane when 3 Christian girls are beheaded in Indonesia... Do I agree with the be-headings, no, nor do I agree with innocent women and children being bombed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Israel... all in the same of one god or another.

What caught my eye to comment what the comment titled 'Christian Suicide Pact'.. when I was a Jehovah's Witness, I was convinvced that I was right and all others were wrong and only I would go to paradise... so sure was I of my beliefs that I carried around, in effect, a suicide note instructing doctor's not to administer blood in the case of an accident, even if it meant my death... I look back now and think.. wow, glad I didn't get in an accident, but I can also see how people can become so brainwashed by their faith to act in what to an outsider, seems to be an insane manner... To me, the root of all evil is not money, or the love of money, but rather religion itself... What god would want his worshippers to destroy other bits of his creation simply because their idea of god differs from anothers?

I wish I knew what the answer was, all I know is that the answer cannot be, 'Us versus Them' no matter whether you are an Us or Them... as this will only serve to divide mankind and eventually there will be no us or them less to worry about.. just a load of irradiated rotting corpses and a few surving insects to fight over the non-lethal scraps...
