Dr. Pipes, perhaps they are right after all?

Dr. Pipes, you say: "I will do my part to defeat radical, totalitarian Islam and to usher in the emergence of a modern, moderate, and good-neighborly Islam in its place."

I believe that a "modern, moderate, and good-neighborly Islam" hasn't the slightest chance to emerge under the current conditions. It is impossible to selectively defeat the "radical, totalitarian Islam" as it is an integral part of, and intimately connected to the mainstream Islam. As you correctly showed in your excellent article Piggybacking on Terror in Britain , the so called moderate Muslims and their so called radicals are mutually reinforcing each other in their common goal to forwarding their Islamist agenda.

In the present course of the ongoing and developing Islamic Revolution the politically correctness, the fair play, the self imposed restrain in combat, etc. and etc. as practiced by the Western Civilization, all these are understood by the faithful Muslims, be them "radical" or "moderate", as a clear indication that their Allah has miraculously taken away the wits of the Western heathens, and that Islam has a divine predestination to destroy Western Civilization and take over the World.

The only way to beat out this power intoxication from the Muslim heart and mind would be by providing them solid and convincing proof that their faith in a "divine Islamic victory" is tragically mistaken. And this cannot be done by continuing to adhere to Western Humanitarian standards. The only way to do this would be to deal with them as ruthlessly as they are used to from their inborn domestic "Islamic cultures", i.e. by adopting their own inhuman, ruthless, murderous standards. Therefore, considering all this, it is possible that the Muslim belief that the Western Civilization is doomed this way or other, may be correct.

This may sound very sad and pessimistic, but unless some unexpected developments, the way things look right now, given the Free World's impotence and indifference, the lunatic Jihadist Iranians will soon become a militant nuclear power, a factor which will only further accelerate the obvious outcome: END OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION. Only a Miracle can change this outlook. But unfortunately miracles don't occur on order.
