Time to draw a line in the sandReader comment on item: Omran Salman v. CAIR and MPAC Submitted by Victor Purinton (United States), Sep 6, 2006 at 10:56 I appreciate Mr. Salman's comments. He's my guy. I would have appreciated it more if he had put in writing what I'm sure he believes in his heart: that groups like CAIR and MPAC have as their overarching goal the establishment of Islamic law in the US. Further, if he had said that such a thing cannot and will not happen in the US, then he'd be my hero. In fact, everyone should be saying that. Especially President Bush, who, unfortunately, does not like the word "secular". It's time to draw a bright line in the sand for all the world to see and come to terms with. Seems to me that these words would do: "There will never be religious law of any kind in the United States of America, and we will defend our secular form of governance as we would defend our territory. Any attempt to establish religious law will be viewed as an assault on our Constitution, and will be treated as sedition." After all, is this not true? Can someone, please, please, say this loud and clear for all the world to hear? Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
