Bravo!Reader comment on item: Omran Salman v. CAIR and MPAC Submitted by Jim Giragosian (United States), Sep 6, 2006 at 21:21 BRAVO!! How fitting that Mr. Salman's comments should be published in Philadelphia, the birthplace of American democracy! I hope that the words and ideas of this eloquent Bahraini journalist will help forge common ground between the peoples of the West and the Middle East ... helping them realize that Muslim extremism is no better at representing Islam than the KKK is at representing Christianity. It is the concept of indiscriminate killing in the name of religion that needs to be unequivocally and universally condemned by all people of conscience. The pros and cons of US policy are a separate issue that will be decided on the basis of free, open, and peaceful debate -- not terror, violence, and death. I look forward to future articles by Mr. Salman and other Middle Eastern journalists who openly espouse the values of freedom, democracy, and peace.
