WELCOME TO CANADAReader comment on item: York University and Campus Watch Submitted by Jeff Bercovitch (Canada), Feb 3, 2003 at 13:11 Sir,WELCOME TO CANADA! Mrs. Tremonti is very typical of many left leaning intellectual Canadian women. Pity us Canadian men who have to endure such rubbish if we want to romance them. She is a wonderful example of the indocrination that begins at a very young age by society in general. That is, to dislike America, dislike their success, dislike their music except Leonard Bernstein, dislike their English speaking culture, dislike their companies and dislike anything that is American EXCEPT Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn and their ilk. At the same time, it is commerce that is financing the CBC (as itfinances NPR, PBS & the BBC). Or it is the taxes from sales of Canadian exports to America that is financing her salary. I wonder if she realizes that. The role of the CBC was to bring Canadians together and embrace Canadian culture. It has achieved the opposite. Their coverage of the Middle East is strongly Pro-Palestinian and never mentions the real occupied territories. i.e., occupied Lebanon by Pro-Syrian forces.
