"Saddam Hussein has been ruthless in his treatment of any opposition to
him since his rise to power in 1979," the report concludes. "A cruel and
callous disregard for human life and suffering remains the hallmark of his
regime."

Hey Guys,

Check out the atrocities that Saddam Hussiens and his sons have commited...
these accounts are as i suspected. They are backed by several radio and
television documentaries i have seen on iraqi's who have fled saddams evil
regime.

I am definately not a peace activist if this stuff is going on over
there...to me, it seems that to be a peace activist in this time is like
saying "Let the iraqis suffer! We are comfortable Americans and dont want
any of their troubles!" or "they can figure it out for themselves! lets
sit around and drink coffee all day in our comfortable worlds and
negotiate it some more, hopefully it will go away..."

Saddam Hussien has brainwashed his ENTIRE NATION! If you think American
TV filtering is bad...check the Iraqi TV...it is ENTIRELY GOVERNMENT RUN!
. Also, The numerous presidential palaces embedded the city of Baghdad
are strictly off limits to citizens, which saddam created from Iraqi Food
funds... These palaces create massive daily traffic congestion and poor
transportation flows as a result of the blockades.

There are pictures and statues of Saddam Hussien on just about every
street corner in iraq, hmmm...any wonder why? There are now over 45
nations behind the US and only 6 or so opposed to this war...As the public
starts to get more informed, especially about the UN iraqi oil fund and
resolution, in which US and UK agreed to many months before the
war...which stated that ANY AND ALL OIL from post war iraq is to go
directly into a UN IRAQI OIL fund to be benefitted ONLY by the IRAQI
PEOPLE. (just as i thought!:) Once these things come to light more...i
suspect many changes in opinion.

George Bush and Tony Blair are right for standing up for this, in the face
of such immense (uninformed) opposition, which is so detrimental to their
re-election. and no i do not say this becuase i am a white male living in
teh US...I formed these opinions from having seen several speeches on
Cspan, from a variety of different parliaments and ethic bakgrounds that
have convinced me of such an opinion, that this war is the final of final
options, and that every measure has been taken to avoid to this grave
outcome. The Human Rights atrocities that happen on a daily basis over
there are reason enough to go to war! much less the 14.41...

The document lists Saddam's favoured methods of torture.

They included eye-gouging, piercing of hands with an electric drill,
suspension from a ceiling, electric shock, rape and other forms of sexual
abuse, beating of the soles of feet, mock executions, extinguishing
cigarettes on the body and acid baths.

Women are allegedly raped, tortured and summarily executed. Prisoners at
one jail are said to have been kept in steel boxes like those found in
mortuaries with only half an hour a day allowed for light and air. Wives
are tortured and raped by high ranking Iraqi officials in front of their
husbands.

Add to this well-documented accounts of the suffering endured by Kuwaitis
and Iraqis: torture with electric drills, death in acid baths, summary
executions, gang rapes in front of family members...Accounts of public executions are not uncommon either...like one i read which said that women who were found guilty of prostitution were made to kneel in the public square as soldiers dressed in ALL BLACK from Oday Hussiens Ministry of Defense beheaded them with swords...Oday Hussien is Saddam Hussiens eldest son.

here is a bit about saddams son...
