Re: Putting my fate in the hands of strangers - I will take them over Olmert and the Israeli-Left and Ha'aretzReader comment on item: Next Steps in Israeli-Palestinian Peace Process Submitted by Nabil Shawarma (Canada), Mar 24, 2007 at 03:27 From the BBC, March 23, 2007: Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has said Israel is ready to make "big and painful" concessions to advance the peace process in the Middle East. I suppose that means Tel Aviv, Haifa and Eilat. But not including his property. When you say that you are working on it, I hope it is true and not just the thoughts of a man who has taken too much ether. I will believe it when I see it. If Israel were different and not at constant war - of the leaders own volition - leaders who refuse to do what is right to not let one more Israeli child live in fear - I would live there. But to see my children join an army and risk being killed by savages that the military should have erased a long time ago, seems like delayed "infantricide" re: Jenin, Lebanon Invasion '06. LIke the US govt is doing right now, the Israeli Govt has once too often , wasted young boys. I stand by that word "waste"- Pres. Bush could have ended this war years ago, if he wanted. I am very proud of Israel's contribution to science; medicine, agriculture, software,,, I have been to Israel 4 times - 4 times more than the typcial John Kerry/Edwards voting American Jew. but to put the fate of my children in the hands of Olmert and Sharon, whom the Israelis elected, including the parents of Gilad, forget it. When a strong leader is elected who finally, takes out the trash, I will seriously rethink what I just said.
