I led the shout of "out"Reader comment on item: My Disrupted Talk at UCLA Submitted by Mark Preston (United States), Apr 14, 2007 at 12:08 I had to come by bus to UCLA to hear Dr. Pipes. I had to walk from Westwood Blvd. all the way to Moore Hall. I don't know the UCLA campus all that well. I didn't have a chance to eat before the convocation. I had my childhood during the 1960s. I'm living history to the types of things the hippies do. The so-called protest or demonstration against the panel or Dr. Pipes reminds me of the Chicago 7 and their coadjutors "shouting down" . . . the names on the list of their targets are pretty much endless . . . Robert McNamara, Richard Nixon, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Daley, Spiro Agnew, , everyone not in accord with their lackluster-ludicrious-ninnyhammering gormless twitteriness. The aging dyed-blonde woman who interrupted, was out of order. The audience was informed and "put on notice" that disrespectul behavoir would not be tolerated. As the blonde-bimbo backward walked out, fully knowing that her behavoir violated the notice that she and her "protesters" had been given, no authority approached her, neither the Police presence nor UCLA authorities. So, as her walking crossed the aisle of seats where I was, fed up with the 'racist-hysterics' I started shouting "out" at her. As much to drown her out and remove her will to interrupt as to hasten her departure. Much to my surprise many of those around me started shouting "out" in unison! Three or four shouts of "out" later and a larger segment of the audience started helping hasten her demise. While I don't like doing such a thing, the circumstances "forced my hand".
