How the Egyptians learned the lessonReader comment on item: [Michael Oren's] "Six Days of War" Submitted by Waleed Abd El Rahman (Egypt), Aug 2, 2003 at 15:57 In this article it talks about the victory that Israel accomplished in 6 days in 1976. But what the article didn't mention is how the Egyptians learned the lesson and got ready for another major war which took place in sinai on the 6th of October 1973.But this time the victory wasnt only accomplished by the egyptian in 6 days but it was accomplished in 6 hours. And this victory wasnt only a stragetic victory, but it was also a victory that was overwhelmed with Peace. That is because when the egyptians won most of their land in sinai they didnt continue. They stopped because this profe of power was enought for the Israelies to listen to the Peace Treaties that the Egyptians had. And Peace was accomplished in Camp david when President Jimmy Carter was united Egyptian President Mr. Anwar el Sadad and Prime Minster Mr. Menakhem Began to sit on one peace table to sign the peace treaty that led to the peace today between Egypt and Israel. So the victory that the 1973 war which was to the Egyptians wasnt only a strategic one because they took the land. But it was also a victory that led to Peace later in the short term.
