Not Pope UrbanReader comment on item: Pope Benedict XVI Changes His Tone Submitted by GWK (United States), Oct 6, 2007 at 08:29 Benedict cannot follow the path of Pope Urban and begin another "Crusade". If Pope Benedict takes a bellicose or even antagonistic course toward the fastest growing population in Europe and in many other parts of the world, he risks stirring up riots. If he leads through dialog and builds relations with responsible leaders in muslim communities around the world, he still risks being mis-interpreted, but he also places a bet on the chance that his message of pluralism and of integration of christian and other non-muslim people, customs and practices into the muslim majority world. If benedicts efforts fall short, it's not because he hasn't tried. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
