out with the bad, in with the goodReader comment on item: Giuliani's Fresh Start Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Oct 17, 2007 at 22:37 There is no comparison between the Bush team and Giuliani's choice of advisors. I, too, voted twice for George Bush and soon into his second term, was very sorry I did. Although my opinion hardly matters in the big picture of the political scene, it is still a voice. I'm still not quite sure about the invasion into Iraq; I was living in Cairo at the time and the general consensus of the Egyptians was that America attacked Iraq without provocation. It was difficult to defend such an act at that time, without knowing all the reasons and facts behind it. The Iraq war has been the Achilles' heel of the Bush administration. If Rudy Giuliani wins the presidency and has anything similar up his sleeve, it had better be for a darned good reason, and I certainly hope it is better planned and executed than this present conflict. I'm tired of Americans being labeled the "bad guys" --- we really do need a fresh start for our country, and I hope Rudy Giuliani becomes an outstanding and highly respected leader. As for Dr. Pipes being labeled a "neoconservative," I have never considered him to be one and his characterisation of himself rings true.
