If Saudi Arabia becomes our declared enemy, the question then becomes, And What About Our Oil? Oil equals our military capabilities and our economy. Our economy equals our basic means of existence. And besides oil, we're deeply -- deeply embroiled with the Saudis -- we're heavily invested in them, and vice versa. If we aren't allied with Saudi Arabia, who will they become allied with? Iran? The Russians? The Chinese? All three? After we leave Iraq -- under whatever circumstances -- it doesn't look like their current government will be a strong ally of ours -- although we will try to make it so -- it's more than iffy right now.
