when cons outweigh prosReader comment on item: No Pipe Dream Submitted by jennifer solis (United States), Oct 22, 2007 at 18:57 The term "Islamism" refers to the members of Islam who believe they're in "times of jihad", justified scripturally in the Qur'an, and therefore justified in killing the kafir, terrorism, etc. Many millions of Muslims worldwide apparently don't think we're in "times of jihad". Islamism, and it's desire to impose a "Caliphate" (Islamic law), is the free world's enemy. War is won when the enemy no longer has the will to fight; when it is no longer advantageous for them, or, when it's advantageous for them to stop. An analogy is WWII. Hiroshema and Nagasaki, a "dis-proportionate" use of military force, ended WWII. The war between Islam and the civilized world will end when Islamism, ie., the use of the Islamic religion for war, is no more. When there is incentive for them to stop; when it's less than advantageous for them to continue. "Dis-proportionate use of military force" worked in WWII, and it would work now. Afganistan, wherever the Taliban existed, should have been leveled. The northern border between Afganistan and Pakistan should be obliterated. EVERY ONE of Saddam's palaces should have been blown to smitherines. Every time someone shoots at our soldiers from a mosque, we should drop a thousand-pound "bunker-buster" bomb on it. Believe you me, that would be incentive for Islamists to stop using their religion (and mosques) for war. Israel, with the U.S. supporting them, should exert "dis-proportionate" military force. Every time a kasam rocket is fired into THEIR country, it should be replied to with overwhelming military force from Israel. When the cons out-weigh the pros, Palestinians will respect Israel's right to exist and not before. -JS
