Psalm 2 - a Collective Thought About the History of IsraelReader comment on item: No Pipe Dream Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Oct 23, 2007 at 23:40 Let us consider an underlying circumstance that is suggested by a collective, though disparately grouped points of view found in this forum. Look at each of the political entities positioning for a piece of Jerusalem, or even the whole of the Temple Mount (which by all Biblical accounts is the true focus of all the Middle East angst). The Waqf, the current landlords of the central piece of the al-Quds territory have been in a protective posture over the Temple Mount ever since the Israeli re-acquisition of the West Bank. This is being done to protect the Islamic version of history where a territory that becomes Islamic, remains Islamic. Only by looking past the incitement of the cause of the ‘Palestinian' plight, a situation inflamed by the actions of the Arab population themselves, do we see that there is only one objective to this whole thing, to rule in Jerusalem. Using the Islamic rhetoric developed from an objective stated by a Caliph so many years ago, the Jerusalem that was once an obscure Quranic mention was elevated to the status of a most holy site, CENTURIES after it was given its true Most Holy status by the Most Holy Almighty God of the Holy Bible. Pleading a ‘Palestinian' cause by the collective Muslim Arab world is only a means to an end of a Caliphate dictate. Look at the other contenders for the holy city, from the time of the Egyptian, the Babylonians, Romans, even the Holy Roman empire though the crusades, to the barely hidden intentions of the Vatican, Eastern Orthodoxy, and you came whoever else (the contemporary Iranian ayatollahs come to mind). Once again, and again, and again, read the Holy Bible to see the end of all things, and the beginnings of all things new, and decide where any of us who want peace should desire to be. Only at the foot of Jesus Christ will there be peace, and that is promised to be in His Temple, in Jerusalem, in Israel (not ‘Palestine').
