Anti-Discrimination?Reader comment on item: [Hussein Ibish:] U.S. Arabs' Firebrand Submitted by Robert Arbetman (United States), Sep 25, 2003 at 00:32 The AA-ADC spends so much time and effort bashing Israel that the implied charter purpose of their organization is never realized. Indeed, their leaders can get a private or semi-private audience with the Secretary of State easier than they can get a similar audience with the Attorney General or the Sec. for Homeland Defense. The war on terror holds some genuine civil rights concern for Arab-Americans. Yet Hussein Ibish and his AA-ADC is full-speed-ahead in his efforts to bash Israel and America while praising despotic Arab nations that harbor, aid and abet terrorists. Very little effort is given to the civil rights concerns of Arab-Americans. In this way, the AA-ADC gets a two-for-one undermining of American democracy: undermining our war on terror while undermining civil rights of the very Americans they pretend to represent.
