Are the Saudis BUYING arms from Russia because Bush wants to GIVE THEM $20 billion in arms?Reader comment on item: Riyadh Reorients to Moscow Submitted by DrRJP (United States), Dec 5, 2007 at 10:42 I'm not a geostrategist, but it seems to me that Popinjay Putin is put off that the US is planning on giving away $20 billion in advanced weaponry to the Saudis. So, to keep Putin from poutin', Crown Prince Aziz "The Disease" threw some chump change at him. Aziz, as you may recall, stated at a gathering of Saudi dignitaries, including top Muslim clerics and preachers, that "the Zionists" were to blame for the May 1, 2004 terrorist shooting in the offices of an oil contractor in Yunbu', Saudi Arabia, in which seven, among them two Americans, were killed. Despite all of the freebies the US is giving him, Aziz has become less of a friend to us and Israel. In a way, Aziz is also sending a message to Bush that, if you don't give us the weapons we want, we'll just get them from our old buddy, Putin. This works out well for Putin since he can unload his stockpile of aging weapons and create an excuse to build new ones. Aziz may be on pace to set a Guinness Book of World Record for the most sides of the human mouth out of which anyone can simultaneous speak. Next time you're looking for a place to fill up your tank, you might think twice about stopping at a Shell, Chevron, Exxon/Mobil, Texaco, or Amoco/BP Station, and look for a Citgo, Sonoco, or Hess one instead. Why? Because the former are the major buyers of Saudi Oil while the latter don't buy a drop of it. Let's all send a signal to the Kingdom that we can do without their stinking oil and their "shuttle diplomacy."
