Significant Dates and JihadReader comment on item: Symposium: Holiday Jihad? Submitted by Daniel Hershtal (Israel), Dec 16, 2007 at 11:03 Note: There are some significant dates that have been used for terrorist attacks, but the significance is more to the situation than the date itself per se. For instance, a Hamas bomber detonated himself inside the Parc Hotel in Netanya on the first night of Passover in 2003. This was clearly planned to happen on a date when the hotel dining room would be filled to capacity with diners celebrating the holiday. In a similar vein, malls in major US cities are chocked full on the days immediately preceeding Christmas, making it a situation likely to render more casualties and greater alarm. I would definitely think that these situations require more vigilance than the "average Tuesday" as opposed to the esteemed panelists.
