Reader comment on item: Stealth Islamist: Khaled Abou El Fadl

Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Mar 1, 2008 at 16:26

It seems that the subversion of Western institutions, to paraphrase Dr. Pipes, especially in the United States, has gone beyond its infancy and is entering adulthood. People such as Abou El Fadl claim to despise Islamic radicals, but in fact are embracing them.

By very cleverly disguising his fear and loathing of Islamists, he is in actuality promoting it behind our backs, saying one thing but doing another. Anti-Semitism, anti-Christian, and anti-any-other-religion-except-Islam, are running fast and reckless, especially in this country. Last weekend there was an anti-war demonstration in downtown Chicago, but upon closer scrutiny, there were also anti-Israel slogans on several placards. All pointed to the plight of the "poor Palestinians" and other issues of the Middle East.

There were also anti-US government signs. The people involved in this peaceful protest looked, for the most part, like local Chicagoans with nothing better to do on a Saturday afternoon than stand in front of the Art Institute and encourage drivers on Michigan Avenue to "Honk for impeachment!"

Yes, we have freedom of speech in this country, but it was sad to notice the lack of a counter-protest in Israel's defense. This type of protest very subtly works on emotions rather than fact. Abou El Fadl and his ilk should not be allowed to infiltrate their evil ideologies of promoting Islam, Shari'a and all that it encompasses, into our Constitution.

Daniel Pipes' knowledge of Islam and the Arabic world is without equal; he doesn't have to be a Muslim to understand the mind of the Islamic radicals, and his many years of research involves practical work that many armchair critics cannot claim. I believe that the anti-Semitic attitude growing in this country is linked to pro-Muslim groups pushing their agenda of Islam and the Shari'a. The naive and politically correct of the world have forgotten exactly what the Muslim agenda truly is, which is to force the world into Islam.
