Reader comment on item: The case for 'Iraqification'

To Dr D.PIPES
I have a lot of respect for your knowledge as a Middle East scholar the ambitious and prolific articles on the subject and certain of your views But a bit biasely pro Bush and that is disturbing.

What Iraqui government or active council chosen by the Bush administration would be endorsed by the people of Iraq? A Chalabi regime ?

...I do not agree about a new Bush policy 'par excellence' which would allow a new Iraqui government with the chances of developing a successful economy and flourishing culture.!!

With such an ambiguous policy in the middle East , with Bush's persistent alliance support and almost symbiotic policy with the Saudis and their Wahabi ties ( that you have other times pointed out ) and their mutual oil co-dependence, How would you
expect an intelligent 'ordered 'consistent policy changes in the Bush administration whose internal fragmentation is already being felt out-side ? Congress approved 87 billions distribution into a chaotic country ?
I will still continue to truly enjoy your letters although wishing you could be a bit more realistic about Bush policy "toward excellence !.I am sure you appreciate some degree of divergence of opinions . Still your Fan reader !.
