in response to reader comment: Steps necessary for destroying Islamic Terrorism

Submitted by samreen (Australia), Jul 17, 2008 at 16:14

I m a high school student, pakistani n muslim too. I read this article and in my opinion i think for terrorism to be stopped we first of all need to know its cause, that what makes ppl join TALIBANS the real terrorists mainly in pakistan and afghanistan. Islam is a religion and there is no religion on earth which teaches people to spread terrorism and Talibans are misusing the name of ISLAM they are destroying its image badly.

now the question is why Talibans are misusing the name of islam its just because they get paid for it. did any one of u ever tried to find who gives financial aid to talibans? who is protecting them from strenghful army of pakistan and U.S? and the answer is America itself.I don't understand whats the motive of America in destroying muslims? I know a lot about my religion and it doesn't teach us to hate people who are non-muslims or kill them for this fact. Islam always used a peaceful way to preach the religion.

Today everyone is saying that Islam teaches terrorism and it really hurts when we hear this because Image of our great religion is badly destroyed and u ppl r too far from truth. If u want to know the truth just read Quran-our holy book once in which u will never find any teaching like this.so its better if u go read about our religion once and then discuss it.

Now lets come to the point what makes ppl join Talibans is POVERTY and IGNORANCE the two main problems of pakistan and no one of our leaders want to solve these problems rather increase them because they r paid for it by America. So talibans offer good food and money to locals who r ignorant its definately very attractive offer for ppl because its human nature that everyone want to get a good living style with a lot of money and best food. and I must say 40-50 percent ppl of pakistan know nothing about islam so i'll call them ignorant, this is second main cause of terrorism in pakistan.

If u ppl want to destroy terrorism first u 'll have to give good education and then control poverty.and its not as easy as it seems and for this we need a sincere govt. without any influence of america. i don't know about other muslim countries so i won't talk about them.

plz post ur comments and i'll give proofs for why i think islam doesn't teach terrorism first u ppl need to know the truth what islam really is and how it is being represented by our enemies...

thanks
