Koran translations need work...Reader comment on item: Non-Muslim Politicians Immersed in the Koran Submitted by suitepotato (United States), Dec 30, 2008 at 18:30 ...as most I read are done in the same silly style as bibles with thees, thous, and so on which cause so many kids in Catholic school to head>desk. If they were more accessible, more might read then and see that like the Torah and Christian Bible, it has its violent moments, but the first practitioners of those religions aren't behaving anything like the Islamists. It's a matter of decision to go with strict literal interpretation in the most restrictive negative sense or... not. That decision is in the hands of the individual which means the violent hate filled provocateurs can't simply be excused with the usual liberal patronizing attitude which is necessary for them to excuse them and turn blame to the west. One decides how one reads any text and how one acts on what one reads. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
