There is a Precedent for the Islamic CityStatesReader comment on item: Muslim Autonomous Zones in the West? Submitted by Nehama (United Kingdom), Jan 14, 2009 at 08:44 Setting up a parallel city-state was a tool used by Muslim invaders during the first Islamic expansion in the 7th Century. Instead of just tacking over existing cities the invaders built a city near to existing cities but allowed only Muslims to live there, they then set up markets and services in the new towns and did everything they could to interfere with trade and commerce in the old towns, by attacking itinerant traders and forcing caravans to the new maskets etc. Citizens of the old towns were allowed to trade in the new markets, but not live in the new cities unless they converted to Islam. In time, trade and commerce were diverted to the new town and the old towns went into decline, this in turn encouraged the conversion of the area to Islam. Baghdad, Cairo, and Ramallah are all examples of such cities, others, like Kirouwan, went into decline themselves once the area was conquered. The lack of available land and the sheer number of people living in Western Europe means there is no opportunity for Muslims to build whole new cities, but the I would agree with slater that their next best option to use this ancient and well tried tactic is to create no-go areas inside Western cities which they can then declare as autominous. In the Americas and Australasia there may still be sufficient land availability for them to grow their own towns, so the authorities need to keep an eye on places like Islamberg, NY and it's 19 sister communities. Another thing to watch is whether the US forces Israel to split Jerusalem, as doing so would set a precedent for creating autonomous urban enclaves which could come back and bite the US on its tucchus. I.e. if the US supports a divided Muslim/Kuffar city abroad then logically it can support a divided Muslim/Kuffar city at home. And if Europe thinks such a city is feasible in Israel then they too will think it feasible in Europe.
