Israel-Arab Conflict - Scriptual, historical, and presentReader comment on item: Explaining Israel's Strategic Mistakes Submitted by Chris Maguire (United Kingdom), Jan 28, 2009 at 17:14 Sir I am from the UK , not Jewish, but have a deep feeling for the Jews, and pray for both the peace of Jerusalem and Israel. I also feel for the Children of Ishmael, that God had promised him to be a 'great (numerous) people'. And he has. But He did not promise the land to him, but said there would be emnity between Isaac and Ismael. But God's covenant was with Isaac. (Genesis) However, this being as much a spiritual battle as it is a temporal one, Satan has badly deceived the Arabic Nations, and has used them to try to destroy, through deception, war, and terror, the Jews. Therefore, it seems to me, in my simplistic way (I have an Honours Degree, btw), that this conflict is a religious one, fired by the Arabic Peoples via the (mis)teaching of the Qu'ran, by devious and self-considering spiritual and political leaders ( who deny that, but are allowed to lie and dissemble, if it furthers the cause of Islam). But the Knesset ignore it, and the Western Govts don't seem to either realise it, or want to know! The current Gazan humanitarian issues are often orchestrated by the likes of Hamas, which is the truth of the matter, and is ignored by secular Western media, along with the political propaganda promulgated by Hamas, often muddies the waters. Arafat did the same, It is simple. The Qu'ran calls for 'forcable' conversion, if 'persuasion' fails, and the destruction, by any means of the Jews, and Christians ('pigs and monkeys'). They don't want peace - they want total Islamic/Aribic control of the land from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea and the Gulf, any way they can (backed by the anti-Semitic Iranian Govt)! Western Govts are missing a lot of understanding by ignoring Biblical Scripture concerning the situation in the world and the Middle East! The Hamas Convention seems to be a self-contradictory document, which, supposedly, both recognises the Holocaust and condemns the Israelis of doing the 'same' to Gazan Palestinians, when Hamas, all the while, are putting the Palestinian citizenry in harm's way deliberately, claiming that 'they desire death' , even little children - what child wants that?? Then Hamas have the cheek to call Israel terrorists! BTW, not all muslims may be terrorists, but muslims are taught from childhood to hate Jews (and Christians), and that it is a glorious thing to deliberately die for Islam, while trying to kill infidels - us! But as I have stated, this is primarily a spiritual battle, with the human tragedy being a sad outcome of it, and, according to Ezekiel 37-39, the Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation, it will continue to worsen, until the Second Coming - if people disbelieve or disagree, then I would challenge them to read those Scriptures, and then read newspapers and watch the world TV, and Internet, media alongside them! First, the War of Gog and Magog, then the Times of Jacob's Troubles, with the rise of the Antichrist (whomever you hold him to be), then 31/2 years of a false, but troubled peace, especially in Israel, then 31/2 years of terrible tribulation. Then the Second Coming! Jew, Arab and Gentile will be judged, the Antichrist and his cronies destroyed, Satan bound for 1000 years (and then released for a season), then the Final Battle (not Armageddon - that comes at the end of the seven years!). We are in the precursor of all this, and the rise of Islam is just one major indication of this, along with the current credit crunch and national unrest worldwide, unlike anything in history! This is nothing to what is going to come. The world, and much of the established church is sleepwalking into this time, denouncing the one groupof people who are warning them of the situation, calling them racists, bigots, hate-criminals and and downright lunatics - if not openly, then behind closed doors. Islam is feted (a fear of being bombed into submission causing this??), and Christianity denegrated and sidelined! PCness is growing, with people calling what the Bible calls good, evil, and evil, good. And passing laws to make us accept them. Or else. The True Church of Christ, not just any given denomination, are told that, when these things happen, to look up and pray, as its salvation is coming. And it will. We need to be awake and ready. The signs are coming thick and fast. This is what the Bible says, and with a billion-plus professing, and not just nominal, Christians in the world, all mainly believing that, and the commandmaents of Christ, not just the Ten Commandments, and supporting Israel in prayer, the Western Govts had better remember that they, too, are their constituants and voters. Mr Pipes, whether you publish my comments in their entirety, edited, or not at all, I ask that you, and any other readers keep in mind that, in these momentous times, not one of us are exempt from the current and coming situation in this broken world, West or East. Shalom, Salaam, and Peace to you all, in Christ. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
