We're talking about humansReader comment on item: Explaining Israel's Strategic Mistakes Submitted by Mogens (Denmark), Feb 9, 2009 at 11:44 The final solution sounds strange, when you translate it into german. No modern civilised state, least of all israel will be able to survive an ethnic cleansing of the palestinians. The economic, humanitarian, social and educational situation in the palestinian territories is so hopeless, that people has given in. They think that there is no alternative to live in an open air prison, so they have nothing to loose. What ever we likes it or not; Hamas won a democratic election, and why, because Fatah could not show any results. and why not? because it was an israeli strategy to undermine Fatah in order to avoid a 2-state solution. What is the result? the same as in Iraq. The radicals had been stronger. You can't in the long run force a whole population to submission. That's the lesson of history. the only way out is to give the average ordinary palestinian hope for a secure and economic viable society, where he/she can live in freedom and prosperity. Building up a strong palestinian middle class with an interest in peace, stability and progress will be the best possibility for the long run survival of the state of israel.
