polygamy is not as bad as its made out to be by closed minds

in a world where we are allowed civil partnerships, gay marraiges, living in sin, sexual liberation of having children out of wedlock with as many partners as we wish why are we so shocked with polygamy?

its not as if its so widely practised even amongst muslims its only a very tiny proportion who have more than one wife. The western media in its anti muslim outlook has exaggerated the popularity of polygamous marraiges. in western society we can sleep around with anyone we choose without commitment yet are shocked where people wish to committ to a marrioage and responsibility for a family too. Its a crazy outlook when we currently have so many unmarried mothers with kids and absent fathers in the west which has grown at an alarming rate at least in these marriages all the parents are present and responsible.

i think the main horror for the west is the association of polygamy with islam and the fear n threat created by the western media ofislam as a threat to the so called british way of life. Well lets face it britian is no longer either christian nor morally committed to marriage or hetrosexuality so which moral high ground are we trying to cling to here in looking down on polygamy. We have more social porblems and costs tot he benefit system from single mothers and marriage break ups than any polgamous marraige threat. If we have only 1000 or even 2000 polyganmous marriages in the U.K OUT OF A U.K POPULATION OF 65 MILLION WHATS THE BIG DEAL , The numbers are so so insignificant in a country where our population growth is negative. Why descriminate against polygamous marraiges when we have afforded freedom and rights to all other minorities.

The outrage is simply ignorance and scaremongering especially against muslims who have been demonised enough already by the western media as it is. one should simply watch jerry springer to see the new lows of society and family values rather than exaggerate grossly any shortcomings in the institution of marriage be it a polygamous one even.
