Hello

As an interested layman, I found the TV series on the 50 years of Arab-Isreali war quite informative on some aspects of Arab refugees from Israel. You can go through these clips

2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JmzlHthgTg&NR=1
3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bh-8nnkKCQE&NR=1
4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tve1l4DChTw&feature=related
5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPQqD-NlfNA&NR=1

Go through clips 3 and 4 which describe the first arab-Israeli war which broke out at the birth of Isreal. The Dir Yassin massacre of Arab villagers were described by Palestinian leaders as as rape so as to goad Arab leaders into shame which will make them avenge Arab honour by fighting Israel. In the event, this radio broadcast panicked Palestinians into leaving their homes for the relative safety in Arab countries.

You must also take into consideration tens of throusands of Jews who were expelled from Arab countries.

The 1940 left millions of refuggees all over the world. For example during 1947-48, at the birth of free India and Pakistan, there was a population transfer of 15 million people. That problem has been settled decades ago by settling these refugees in their new countries. Why should the world bother about Palestinian refugees when they can be easily settled in many Arab countries - with whom they are related by race, language, religion and culture.
