Palestinian refugees an anachronismReader comment on item: Calls to Settle Palestinians Living in Arab Countries Submitted by Vijay (United Kingdom), Aug 14, 2009 at 05:41 The second world war and its aftermath produced millions of refugees worldwide. Germans migrated to Germany in millions from the east and Suedenland. Peoples in the USSR were also moved around in millions as a state policy. Chinese civil war, and Sino_Japanese war caused tens of millions of people to be resettled in another country or in another part of the same country. India's partition in 1947 caused 15 million people to be resettled. Probably during 1945-50, about 100 million people were resttled away from their ancestral lands. All these refugees have settled decades ago and they are not a political issue. Why should 750,000 refugees who came out of the new state of Israel be a burden on the world more than 50 years after the event. Arab states must absorb them since they belong to the same race, language and religion. And it is also easy since they have been living in Arab countries for the last 50 years.
