Remember MossadeqReader comment on item: Washington Puzzles over the Mujahedeen-e Khalq Submitted by Charles Martel (India), Aug 16, 2009 at 05:34 Charles , Why should the US government even have written agreements with a proto-Marxist group such as MEK ? I thought the West fought the cold war against Marxist ideology .Remember we toppled Mohammad Mossadeq's government in Iran in the early 1950-s because we thought it was a pro-Communist government. Now there probably are no more nor will be any more secular , liberal man in the middle east like Mohammad Mossadeq. I believe we missed a golden chance of having a true democratic state in the middle east by toppling Mossadeq. Now if we can topple Mossadeq for being pro-communist why we should even think of having a Communist Iran even after more than 60 years of toppling Mossadeq ?
