revised thinkingReader comment on item: Washington Puzzles over the Mujahedeen-e Khalq Submitted by russell wohlford (United States), Mar 7, 2013 at 11:19 I tend to agree with you now Peter. There are pleasing aspects to be seen when one looks gently. Upon further research and diligent news-sifting I must say the MEK isn't particularly admirable. I still feel odd about my encounter with them; it is hard not to like them individually. In light of the events since last I posted on these matters I find them reprehensible as a group. I do not feel that Iran represents any real threat to the United States and so I can't support what has been happening in SW Asia. I don't like Salafists in Libya and Syria. I don't like Marxists in Iran. the fact that we arm, train, and support terrorists and extremists to sow death and destabilization in "rogue" states made me lose my faith. We arm Al-Qaeda. That is sick. Lost my taste for imperialism in the dusty plain. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
