Truth is the first casualty

When the NTSB, in defiance of its own mandate, can classify an aircraft crash event, within an hour of its occuring (as in the case of AA587), without a grasp of what the physical evidence is, and more importantly where the evidence was located, I suspect the truth to be the first casualty of the event.

This is the same government board (though not all the same people) that put forth the preposterous scenario of a noseless 747 (TWA800 07/17/96) climbing between 1300 and 2300 feet, before plummeting to the ocean with burning fuel trailing.

At one time the NTSB was an independent authority with the traveling public's safety in mind when conducting an unbiased investigation, and only rendering an opinion when the objective evidence supports it. Sadly they have become a political tool, destined to arrange the facts to support the needed determination.

Partly at fault is a great deal of complacency among the citizens of the US. Unfortunately, most of the (US)public enjoys their ignorance(bliss) of the world around them. Network journalists do little or nothing to resolve this condition. They (journalists) fail to follow-up, ask hard questions of those presenting the information and do not independently confirm or refute the "facts" they have been presented. For the most part they regurgitate what they hear. So when the NTSB says "accident", or "spark from unknown origin" they latch on to the official line, without question, brush their hair and teeth and that is what we hear.

Why? maybe its because they have about 17 minutes to present the significant daily events, or it is for fear of becoming part of the "unwelcome group" at press conferences, or perhaps it is because in reality, few of the viewing public really care or understand what the implications of the complacency with what they are being told really means about our representative republic and society.

The truth is, we have not yet been presented with the truth about AA587 as stated by "official" sources.
