Obama's War on IsraelReader comment on item: The Worst Crisis in 35 Years? Submitted by Martin Gray (United States), Mar 20, 2010 at 11:10 Caroline Glick, writing in the Jerusalem Post on March 19, 2010, has clearly defined Obama's "War on Israel". My worst fears about this marxist amateur have been realized. Taking a cue from his mentor Jeremiah Wright and another of his close friends Rashid Khalidi, Obama has turned the page on decades of U.S./Israeli bi-lateral relationships even using the daft analysis of General David Petraeus to undermine what has been the solid strategic basis for the support the U.S. has given Israel. Regardless of the incidental nature of the event that led to this explosion in the relationship, one cannot forget the actions and announcements emanating from the Secretary of State's office as well as the conduct of the White House. These are statements and actions that should not be forgotten or forgiven on the part of Israel's supporters. What is even more disappointing is the silence from Jewish organizations as well as Jewish Congressmen and Senators. The silence from Senators Shumer, Levin, Boxer, Feinstein and the statement supporting these actions from Congressmen Berman shocks the conscience. In reality, what's revealed is the hypocrisy of these elected representatives, who after years of professing support for the state of Israel, are MIA when the real crunch comes. Shumer should be boo'd off the stage at AIPAC as should Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. These are no friends. Let's not forget this.
