Martin- The Jews you named and the confusion around itReader comment on item: The Worst Crisis in 35 Years? Submitted by sara (United States), Mar 20, 2010 at 18:22 Martin notes: "...silence from Senators Shumer, Levin, Boxer, Feinstein and the statement supporting these actions from Congressmen Berman shocks the conscience. In reality, what's revealed is the hypocrisy of these elected representatives, who after years of professing support for the state of Israel, are MIA when the real crunch comes..." Unfortunately Martin, the names of those you mention have nothing in common with Israel, and some not even with Judaism (Feinstein). It is a common mistake these days to assume that Jews are supporters of Israel when in fact they are not. Many of these Jews were weaned on civil rights and defense of blacks/minorities, so they are simply displaying their real selves. They do not see themselves as defenders of Israel. Israel has since 1967 been the big bad wolf, and their job is to defend the little guy, in their eyes, the Palestinians. Do not fall into the trap of believing that the mass majority of Jewish Obama voters had even a fleeting thought about the welfare or safety of Israel. This is the unfortunate explanation that non-jews do not understand, and even more unfortunate, these Jews you named above do not realize that they cannot escape their Judaism as the world judges them as such, whether they perceive themselves so or not. See poor Daniel Pearl who refuted his Jewish identity and yet was beheaded in the end because he was a Jew. He may not have perceived himself as a supporter of Israel and Jews, but his murderers had no such doubts about it.
