israel would be foolish to do soReader comment on item: A Military Strike on Iran's Nuclear Infrastructure? Submitted by RRwest (Canada), Jul 13, 2010 at 15:55 Should Israel lock 'n load on Iran, it would give her Muslim neighbours ample reason to attack. By "Muslim neighbours" I mean Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, the PA, Egypt, Turkey and above all, Saudi Arabia. Each and every one of these countries wants Israel wiped out. If Israel does get the gumption to unleash some fury against Iran's nuclear plants, then the other nations would condemn the actions and rise up with indignation that Israel would attack another Muslim nation. Never mind that the Saudis hate the Iranians and vice versa. The principle is that the Sunni leader of the world, Saudi Arabia, is using Iran, the Shiite leader of the world, as bait. Its a sacrifice that Saudi Arabia would clearly like to make, since it would neutralize Tehran's ability to use nuclear force in areas which could endanger Saudi interests nearby and more importantly their oil fields. It would also remove the bitter enemy of Sunni Islam from the picture for a while, settling an argument which began when the two factions within Islam split apart after Mo the thug died. I trust that Israel will not take the bait and let other nations take up the cause of stopping the mad nation of Iran from getting nuclear weapons, which would threaten more than just Israel but the entire ring of nations surrounding Iran's borders. That includes one "small" nation known as Russia. Just saying... Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
