Nothing out of ordinaryReader comment on item: American Muslims in the Liquor Business Submitted by Vijay (United Kingdom), Jul 21, 2010 at 12:14 In Britain , Muslims own a good portion of corner shops, small "supermarkets", off-license liquor stores etc which liquor. The profitability and viability of the shop is the overriding concern. OTOH, the Muslim owned shops in Muslim dominating areas "ethnic enclaves" , will be more relgiously sensitive and have bold 'halal' notices and may even not serve liquor in restaurants. As long as Saudi money and wahhabism does not enter a country, Muslims are as adaptable as anyone else Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
