Muslims violating the good parts of Quran is never the issueReader comment on item: American Muslims in the Liquor Business Submitted by Ted (United States), Jul 22, 2010 at 23:11 Dear Dr Pipes: Like all religious books, the Islamic code also has many good things included in it. If all Islamists could follow these good things verbatim, a lot good result. But like all people --muslims or otherwise-- the good parts of the Islamic code are not followed. Many times they are not followed because they are too impractical. Many other times they are not followed because the human nature is frail. But following or not following the good part of the Islamic code is never the issue. The issues here are the following: 1. Some Islaimst tend to believe as if the good in Islam is unique to Islam and Islam has a branded monopoly on it. In reality, good ethics are shared by all religions. Islamists should not brag about things that they do not exclusively own. 2. Whether Islamists follow the good part of Islam or not, they follow the bad part. I have yet to meet many Muslims --even non-Arabs and non-Palestinians-- who do not consider Israel an enemy. Perhaps the doctrine that brands jews bad was composed hundreds of years ago. 3. Finally, Islamists sacrifice even the Islamic good ethics when it comes to Islam. It is OK if a Muslim in Detroit sells liquor. The issue is whether he would support a pious teetotaler jew when this jew is at odds with a scoundrel Muslim.
