Robert Paladino is absolutely rightReader comment on item: Islam Drives the Social and Legal Agenda in the West Submitted by Ted (United States), Jul 26, 2010 at 23:30 Dear Dr Pipes: School superintendent Robert Paladino is absolutely correct when he states that his district has never experienced a request for private place to worship from students belonging to religions other than Islam. And you are right when you say that Islam is driving the social and agenda in in the west. I believe that these demands to pray at specific times in specific ways at the cost of everyone else are driven more by imperialistic desires than by spiritual needs -- the people who truly want to pray and say their thanks to God, do so quietly in very noisy places (I have seen Jews, Christians and others reading all sorts of religious books in public places). If the parents of this Muslim girl truly want her to be a spiritual person, they should ask her to say her prayer before or after the major events in the school. Or they can make her a fanatic warrior. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
