ISLAM NOT THE CAUSE OF PROBLEMS.Reader comment on item: God and Mammon Submitted by Ben Othman (Malaysia), Oct 3, 2010 at 20:55 Greetings, Contrary to Rajeev's assertion. I did not endorse the idea that Islam caused the problemS.It could be typographical error on his part or maybe I underestimated Indian English capability to interpret a "no" to a "yes ". Rajeev compared the inactivities of monks and other religions' teachers to the activities of political Islam But he conveniently forgot to mention the" God, Gospel and Gold "aggressive evangelism by Catholics and protestant adherents.(Read Christian governments ).They were bent on destroying and forced mass conversion of people; the Americas, Asia attested to these. They were also bent on destroying those within themselves that differed in beliefs The European 100 years War between Catholic Spain and protestants were proof of this. .In Indian sub- continent millions died in massive wars between 'peaceful' Hindus and 'docile ' Buddhists.Questions may be asked 'will caste system be that prevalent in India today if Asoka and the Buddhists had defeated the Hindus ?" Persia and Greece, Persia and Byzantine fought wars after wars intending to dominate each other. All these had 'politics ' associated with them and the 'peaceful' monks of Hinduism,Buddhism, Greece and Persia were individuals not representing the aggressive political and militant inclinations of their respective nations and rulers. To highlight Muslims' political and military conquest only while concealing other nation's and religion affliated military activities which were more widespread, violent and on some instances without justification , is bad reporting and gross misrepresentation and concealment of facts by Rajeev.
