India should head the ingominous list

Indian government should head the list of governments which bend backwards to appease the islamic gangsterism. It was one of the first countrires to ban Satanic Verses. This was on the demand of Syed Shahabuddin, a self styled secularist leader who was rank communalist backed by leftists. Emboldened by the success in getting Rushdie's book banned, in early nineties, he went on to prevail upon government to get a few more books of academic nature on Islam banned. One such book was "Understanding Islam through Hadiths", written by Ram Swarup. Seven years after it was published in the US, in 1990, he managed to get it banned in India, both English and its Hindi versions. The book was wholly based on Sahih Muslim's compilation of Hadiths, which is as authoritative as any Islamic book. The book had said nothing critical of either Islam or Mohammed, except to point out that Hadiths approved use of violence against Kafirs, and apostates. Insofar as Islam is concerned, the freedom of speech is limited to praising it.
