Obama will go the other routeReader comment on item: Further Reactions to My "Bomb Iran" Argument Submitted by yuval Brandstetter MD (Israel), Nov 9, 2010 at 11:53 The last thing Obama can or will do is bomb iran. it goes against his core, and will wipe out whatever credibility he has in the Muslim world to which he is pandering. On the other hand there is a way for him to drastically reduce deficit, win back his constituents, enhance himself in the Muslim world, and get re-elected. Shut down US military interventions in Iraq and AfPaq, repatriate all military presence in Europe Japan and Korea citing the deficit, retain just enough power in Saudi Arabia and the gulf to curb Iran and frustrate Israeli raids on Iran. That is is win-win, when israel has to live under muslim threat of annihilation, and the deficits reduced via deep slashes in defense expenditures. I betcha this is the route he will take confronting Republican congress Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
