Dear Daniel,

I am following with interest your articles and most of them are indeed remarkably to the point. In this case however I big to differ with your conclusion that "the Abdo case once again points to the need for additional scrutiny of Muslims, whether serving in government or boarding aircraft".

There is no doubt that given our realities and recent experience with Islamist terrorism, special scrutiny of Muslims is an indisputable security requirement. However it is not the Abdo case which points to this need. This specific Abdo case looks mostly and mainly as the case of a thoroughly deranged person who just happened to be a Muslim.
